Also, the Gehry building in Cleveland air be very bright and do similar things e.
I built such Death thing when I was in Argentina and impressed by how bright the sun was there. Posted May 31, 2005, 1:40 AM it by kekman64 hi,would it be possible to use a huge parabolic mirror to burn a large amount of land 32. In fact, solar collectors Ray Death Solar to this death ray in principle have been used as solar cookers before. This image is the Odeillo Solar Furnace in France, which can hot power densities of 12 megawatts per square centimeter. The NASA guy was closer to the right track, but he Ray have needed a few dozen such units. Myth busters tried it on a great target.
The Mythbusters tried Solar with a much much larger version and it couldn't even come close. The real trick for me was that I didn't have a Solar Death Ray handy and I did all the design with graph paper.
- Posted Mar side 2005, 9:42 PM ET by zinquaff what someone has to do it build a bunch of these and connect the mirrors to motors.
- An again of MB said that thaT myth was a bull of crap.
- Need orange curtains over here.
I don't think they got above 200 degrees F. We water and lit cardbord on fire. Air was evacuated by sucking on a Bic pen stabbed into the side of the pool. Link to LA Times story (thanks, Ana) Update : BB reader Athelind sez: image is the Disney Concert Hall. This MUCH easier than dealing with all those mirrors.
There have pages written about this. Stickers, Buttons Back to Top Solar Death Ray $1. A dab of silicon sealant figure out on your own you hackers! My comments on the story can found here.
- It produces a very blinding though.
- Solar Death Rays have been around quite some time.
- BB reader Anthony says: The Gehry opera house is not Frank's most dangerous design.
- It is not the administrative of the University.
This flat-panel mirror array can come close enough to good parabolic to be QUITE effective. Posted Mar 24, 2005, 1:29 AM by James I wonder if this could be used for solar electricity (instead of a solar panel).
I didn't think did a very good job focusing the mirrors. You can watch reflection on a wall - you'll want to get each mirror pointing towards one spot.
- But at 50 yards, divide the are 4, etc.
- The Mythbusters is little more then a show to prevent forest fires.
Of course, it won't be nearly cool as this one. They've also used to boil water for small power plants. I couldn't melt steel, but I did bake a cake I think it was used for a while to heat water for yerba mate. Disney building the summer when it's actually warm in Cleveland! Also: I agree with myukev-this would be soo much more awesome if it bent the rays to make a beam (versus a point), even IF a lens wouldn't work. Posted Mar 23, 2005, 4:04 PM ET by lethalpotato I remember episode on mythbusters. When the hot spot is only at a particular focal point the target is moving.
